Savior, Messiah, and Lord

God loves to make us whole. He wants our bodies healthy, our minds clear and alert, our spiritual understanding enlightened. He is our Savior and sent His Son to be our savior. That is what “Jesus” means in Hebrew: Jehovah saves. The title Jehovah is used many times in the Bible and shows God’s willingness to help us. In the Bible, God also uses the title Elohim to show that He is able (as Creator) to meet our every need. He is both willing and able to care for us.

God gave His authority (to heal and make whole) to His Son, when He anointed Jesus with holy spirit power. Then Jesus went about doing good and healing all oppressed of the Devil (Acts 10:38). This “anointing” gives us the Hebrew name Messiah, or Christ (in Greek). The Messiah has full authority to act as savior. As Elohim, God (the Creator) has all authority and power to help us. Today, the Christ has been given that authority under God and is now our lord (I Corinthians 15:27,28).

God is Jehovah, the Lord over all Who provides all good things. As our heavenly Father, He is willing to help us, and sent His Son to save us. Jesus made known God as our Father. All good things are through (by means of) Jesus our lord.

I Corinthians 8:6:
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of [ek, the Source of] whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by [dia, by means of] whom are all things, and we by him.

We are saved when we confess Jesus as our lord, and believe that God raised Christ from the dead (Romans 10:9,10). Let’s praise God our Savior for sending His Son Jesus, our savior. Let’s claim all the spiritual authority we have in the powerful name of the Messiah, the risen Christ. And let’s walk under the power and love of the Lord God our Father, through our wonderful lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
