With the new year comes health resolutions for many. Six faithful “standbys” for good health are: fresh air, clean water, sunlight, proper rest, exercise, and good food. Here’s a little poem about them.
I have six “doctors” care for me,
Each is a fine physician.
They’re God-supplied and even free.
I give them full permission.
The first is Doctor Fresh-air.
He fills my lungs each hour
With oxygen to my bloodstream
To cleanse and feed and power!
The next is Doc Cleanwater,
A sparkling chap is he.
I drink in all his benefits
He’s eighty percent of—me!
Then there’s Doctor Sunlight,
He brightens up my day
And gives me strength and energy
For duty, work, and play.
Fourth is Doctor Proper-Rest,
A noble source of cure,
For when my soul is weary,
He helps make me sound and sure.
Fifth is Doctor Exercise,
A lively, active friend,
We invigorate—till I feel great!
He’s faithful to the end.
Finally, Doctor Goodfood,
My palate seeks him most.
Nutrition is his byword,
He is a simple host.
Yes, God supplies these doctors—
Puts us in the best position.
And helps us keep our bodies
In the healthiest condition!
