When you first wake up, what do you think about? Maybe it’s what you need to do that day, or what’s for breakfast, or even how to help a spouse or children? Those are all important, but our first and continued thought throughout the day really should be “What does my Father want?” We want to be well pleasing to Him.
Psalms 19:14:
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
God is our strength, and He redeems us from the troubles in this life. He is always listening to us. And we have the joy of listening to Him to know what to do.
Time with our Father
With great respect for what God has done for us in Jesus Christ, we “pass our time” here. Our faith (believing) and hope is in God.
I Peter 1:14-21:
As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear [respect]:
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
Who verily was foreordained [was in God’s foreknowledge] before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
God in His foreknowledge knew that Mary would one day believe His Word and conceive and bring forth the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Later, God raised His only begotten Son from the dead and gave him glory. By Jesus Christ, who is seated at the right hand of God, we believe in God.
Heart Matters
When it comes to deciding what to do for our heavenly Father each day, we can’t just look at the “facts” around us. The Prophet Samuel at first looked at David’s face and height, and didn’t think that David could be king. Yet God doesn’t look on the outward appearance; He looks on the heart.
I Samuel 16:7:
But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.
Our heavenly Father cares about what we think and appreciates our love and thoughts toward Him. He is the heart searcher.
Psalms 44:21:
Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
Romans 8:27:
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
God doesn’t look at our “faces.”
Romans 2:11:
For there is no respect of persons [accepting faces] with God.
What a joy it is to have an open, honest relationship with the Creator of the heavens and the earth. He is now our Father through the works of Jesus Christ. God will lead us in the right way, and we speak His Word to please Him. Our Father “tries” our hearts.
Psalms 139:23,24:
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
I Thessalonians 2:4:
But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth [proves and purifies] our hearts.
Our Daily Decision
When we awaken each morning, we can have a little talk with the Father.
Psalms 5:3:
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Psalms 88:13:
But unto thee have I cried, O Lord; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent [come before] thee.
Our big brother, Jesus Christ, lived this way. He knew what to do each day as the Father worked within him.
Mark 1:35:
And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
Our heavenly Father gives us His peace so that we can make the right decisions and do His will. He will work in us to do that which is well pleasing in His sight as we walk in fellowship with Him and His Son Jesus Christ, our lord. We can ask and know: “Father, what is it that You want for me today?”
Hebrews 13:20,21:
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Psalm 27:4 and 5 (KJV)
4 One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in hs temple.
5For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavillion: in the secret of his tabernacle he shall hide me: he shall set me upon a rock.
Thank you! Just a beautiful reminder of how wonderful our God is.
Xoxo!
Tremendous reminders of our best priorities and also that God is tender daddy and not a task master. He welcomes our fellowship and craves our well being as any parent craves the best for their kids. Love you!

Psalm 143:8
Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
